December 1st

It's the most wonderful time of the year, right? I've decided it is for sure. When I was younger I remember being very "bah-humbug" about the holidays because I found them sooooo depressing, but once I took a step back and realized that I have a wonderful life, with nothing to be depressed about, it was then that I could fully enjoy the spirit of the season.

What I ask you is better than an Eggnog Latte, a turtle neck sweater, jeans, a pair of ugh boots, and snuggling up with your honey. NOTHING, that's what! Now if our Southern California weather would just work with us a bit...we could actually wear sweaters and ugh boots and not look completely ridiculous!

Crazy Fun

Well, it has been a while since I posted. I have been super crazy with trying to stay a float at school while holding down a full time job. I need to keep my head up, because this is only the beginning of my crazy classes, and it's only going to get harder. With all that said, I truly feel for the first time that I'm working toward something great (education wise that is), and I just hope that I can keep up the momentum.

On a fun note, we are leaving to go camping tomorrow! It's sort of an impromptu trip for Ryan's birthday. I will make sure to post pics upon our return. I'm just so happy to be spending the weekend with him, because we have not seen a whole lot of each other since I started school this semester.

Frozen Meat; to be or not to be...

So I want to know who decided that it is a bad idea to freeze meat? I see all these fast food commercials that advertise "never frozen" and other dining establishments advertise that your meal is "not made until you order it." All I'm saying is I live in San Diego, and I don't see In-and-Out having a cow in the back next to the fry making machine freely giving out chunks of his or her "filet mignon"...or any near by farms delivering sides of beef on a daily basis. How do they keep the meat fresh? A refrigerator? Don't get me wrong...I LOVE fast food (especially In-and-Out, btw)...it's fast, it's cheap, and it's usually super yummie, but I would much prefer to have my meat frozen...at least then I know it has been kept in a state where it is not slowly decaying on its trip from god knows where! I freeze meat all the time...and then i cook it and it's good. The days of salting meat to keep it fresh longer are so last century...I say we move over to the freezer where it's nice and cool.

Kayaking Fun

Yesterday Ryan and I went Kayaking in La Jolla. We first went to the official cool La Jolla Kayaking place and it was sold out for hours. We didn't want to wait, so we opted to try for next weekend. Our intention was to make reservations sometime during this week. As we are walking towards our car, we notice this seedy little sigh saying something about "Kayaking Cave Tours" and we decide to check it out. So it's 11:19, when we walk in to the place that we are pretty sure is some guys apartment, and we ask if they have anything available for the day. He's like "sure, we got spots available for 11:30." So in 10 minutes time, Ryan and I are dragging a huge kayak into the Pacific, towards sharks, which we saw tons of. Don't worry though, they were only a few feet long, and I'm told they are bottom feeders. Once we were out at sea, it was absolutely amazing! The only draw back was I got super burnt. I didn't even think I would be able to put on clothes today in order to go to work. Here's just an example of how burnt I got!

Kayaking in La Jolla, I totally recomend it. Just remember to bring your sunscreen!

Calorie Scams

I've decided that calories on the nutritional value labels are scams. Think about how often you read the package of *insert your favorite treats here* and you think, "oh, it's only 350 calories." When infact it's actually 1050 calories because there are three servings in the tiny treat! I think the package should say 1050 calories total, and then you can eat half the treat and feel good that you only had 525 calories.
I'm hungry!

A new day

An obvious contradiction, as it is 10:04pm and I am about to go to bed. But tomorrow will be a new day, and although it will be filled with work, and probably a little drama, I can't wait to see and experience it all!

I feel like I am starting over since I finished this semester of school, and there is only 5 weeks till I start an extremely vicious semester, I must get it all in! I hope to visit friends and family that I've neglected so during my time in school, don't be surprised if I show up on your door step!

Here's to the summer, it is too short and too sweet! Like this blog...
